Sun in Aries

Blessings of the time of the Sun in Aries! Olivia Robertson writes in "Sophia":

"Companions, on the quest for the Golden Fleece of Love and Life, know that Aries the Ram is Shepherd of the Starry Flock, leading the Zodiac procession round the encircling year! Shining unattainably in the bright sky are the gold cloud sheep of Phoebus Apollo. The flock's Ram bore Helle and her brother Phrixus on his back as they flew from the wrath of their step-mother Ino. Alas, Helle flew in...to the sea, hence called the Hellespont. 'First Golden Aries shines, who whilst he swam lost part of his freight, and gave the sea a name.' To this constellation belongs the starry Shepherd, Tammuz Dumuzi. As he sank to his death into the Western Sky Ocean, he was rescued by Ishtar, Goddess of the eight-pointed star Sirius. The mighty Amon-Ra, Ram God of the Egyptians, reigns in this House. He is also the Agnus Dei, the Easter Lamb. His is the Golden Fleece.

"The Goddesses also have the courage and glory of Aries! Divine Minerva was honoured at this time at Her Festival, the Quinquatrus. Victors in contests of music and games were presented with vessels of oil and crowns of olives, grown in Her Grove of Academus. As Pallas Athena, Her Spring Panathenaea was celebrated by a joyful procession bearing her embroidered saffron peplum to the Parthenon, there to be lain upon the statue of the Goddess, and strewn with Spring flowers. In the Panathenaic frieze old men and women lead the ritual carrying olive branches of peace, and men in their prime follow with shields and spears. Foreigners carry little boats and women bear water-pots. Young men crowned with millet sing hymns to the Goddess, and Virgins carry baskets of sacred objects. All these and ourselves honour the Goddess of a Thousand Works."

Audio Highlight

Blessings to all Aset Shemsu on this Equinox, which marks the 39th anniversary of the Fellowship of Isis!   (see previous post as well) Click on the link below to listen to Olivia Robertson in this historic audio clip:

(mp3/1:39 min/390 kb)

Audio transcript:
"Rise into the air of the past, my time and space. . . Come to the land of Ireland, where all humanity is one and our widespread Fellowship has members in 71 countries of every race; for all are born of Nuit, the Sky Goddess of the Zodiac, whatever their language, race, or culture, or religion. Come back to the south-east corner of Ireland. Look down at a wooded valley. It is a veritable labyrinth of trees. Set between two rivers, watched by a mountain. . . Hidden within the trees is an ancient gray castellated Castle. From it, flies the flag of the Goddess Cybele - a castellated crown, which is Hers. This is the Castle of the Goddess!"

Isis of Alchemy

"Isis of Alchemy, Transformation through the Goddess" is now available in paperback.  It may be ordered through Amazon (or any other bookstore), as well as through libraries.  It is always available to be read in full for no charge in the Online Library section of our website as well.

This book includes eight rituals of the Fellowship of Isis along with illustrations, by Olivia Robertson. She wrote in the introduction:

"My own series of experiences occurred while I was writing the Alchemical Rituals now presented in this book. Yet when I began writing, I knew little of the subject. I often re-read three of my favourite classics: 'Le Comte de Gabalis' by the Abbe de Montfaucon de Villars, 'The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz,' and 'The Most Holy Trinosophia' by le Comte de Saint Germain. . .As to my own quest, it has led me home. I have discovered the hidden sun within the transforming fire on Brigid's Hearth."

Isidis Navigium

Lawrence Durdin-Robertson writes in the book, "Juno Covella":
Egyptian: ISIS; The Ploiaphesia, Navigium Isidis, The Ship of Isis. (Seyffert, Diet.) "Isis . . the festival, held on the 5th of March is called the ship of Isis (Isidis Navigium), in recognition of her being the patron of navigation and inventress of the sail".  Also: "Isis addresses Apuleius: 'The eternal laws of religion devote to my worship the day born of this night. Tomorrow my priests offer me the first-fruits of the new sailing season by dedicating a ship to me; for at this season the storms of winter lose their force, the leaping waves subside and the sea becomes navigable once more'.  (Apuleius, Met. XI)"
