Transcript:  “You may now want to know something about the Fellowship of Isis.  It was founded in 1976 by my brother, his wife Pamela, and myself, and this is, this date in a way when you'll be listening, is 1991 and now we have over 10,500 members in 69 countries.  And people want to know - how do we manage this?  The answer is simple.  We are all in rapport in the inner planes.  There is a rainbow circulation of light and friendliness between all our countries.  So it doesn't matter what religion you belong to.  We have people who are Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, Hindu, every type of tradition, united.  Now people, some people may say - isn't this eclectic?   The answer is yes, but we only have this blending when there is something we all share in common.  For instance, we all share the Sun in common.  And above all, the balancing power of the feminine.  Why do we emphasize the feminine?  It's been so rejected - well, really neglected.  The over-emphasis on patriarchy, male qualities has led to the state our earth is in today.  So this misplaced contempt for all qualities of the feminine has caused I believe most of our troubles on earth.  Because not only are the earthly qualities of the Goddess despised, but her psychic powers.  So we believe in developing the psychic powers as well."

From the FOI Liturgy: "Companions, let us contemplate the sign of Aries and the neighbouring constellations. Above Aries shines heavenly Andromeda and beyond her is her Mother, Cassiopeia upon her throne. Behold, the hero Perseus flies across the sky to rescue Andromeda from a sea monster: She is borne by the wings of Hermes, who bears the Shield of Pallas Athena. He uncovers it and reveals the shining snake rays upon Medusa's Head, and so turns to stone the whale, Cetus, with its writhing starry coils rising from the deeps. Andromeda is saved and rises in the sky towards Perseus. Her body holds a great wonder: a spiral galaxy, sister to our Milky Way. Above Aries is Triangulum the pasture-land of the Oxen of the Sun. In silence let us contemplate the Mystery of Aries and Durga."

"It was direct spiritual experience, as with my brother, that I had a direct spiritual Vocation to do this from God - the feminine aspect of God - God who is also feminine to emphasize this, because the world is threatened by destruction, through pollution, through misuse of nature - often through stupidity and greed.  We're destroying the planet.  And the Divine Plan appears to be to emphasize the feminine: charity, kindness, care for nature, nurturing, motherhood - all that side.  Not to get rid of the male aspect, but to balance male aggression and materialism and this linear-logical, mental thought:  always analysis, analysis - we're more for healing and synthesis."

“I started as the Church of Ireland, or as we call Anglican, as an Anglican. I suppose one approaches . . . everyone is basically interested in religion, and their first approach is through their religion to which they were born, and as I say I was born into the Church of Ireland, the Anglican Church. And then my horizon broadened and I became interested in many other religions, and so many of them the last 150 years have been prevented, Indian, Chaldean, Egyptian, Japanese, the old Norse and Celtic, and so on - that my horizon broadened, so I became – actually I call it – a Universalist, believing in all the religions, but particularly of course, the fair feminine aspect, which is now very much coming into the fore again. Of course you get that in Christianity, particularly in the cult of the Divine Wisdom, Sophia, that you get of course in the Hebrew Bible, Chokmâh, but also in the Virgin Mary. So there isn’t really such a gap because the Virgin Mary has many of the titles as the Goddess Isis. Isis represents all women and corresponds to all the Great Goddesses or in fact, every Goddess, or every woman to that extent."

Invitation to 40th Anniversary Celebration

 

Dear Friends and Members,

I am delighted to inform you of the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Founding of the Fellowship of Isis at Huntington Castle over the weekend of March 19th and 20th next year.

Put it in your diary now!

You can be assured of a welcome as we honour and celebrate the first festival of our beloved fellowship; at the very same place that inspired the Founders.

There will be an exhibition of memorabilia, photos, films and other items to prompt memories and a sharing of past involvement. We will hold the Spring Equinox Festival on Saturday; have speakers to add to and extend the contexts of the Fellowship over the weekend and on Sunday the opening of the new Sacred Grove in memory of the Founders. There will be a seated shared meal together on the Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime.

Sadly as places are limited, due to restricted seated space, we would encourage an expression of interest to attend as soon as possible and January 6th at the latest; so we can prepare a memorable and special celebration for everyone.

True to the manifesto ideals the FOI has no membership fee so there are no funds to draw on for this event. We will need to cover food costs and marquee hire so will inform you of this as soon as we can when we know numbers better. We will keep costs to a minimum.

Please RSVP to our Hon. Sec. at the Foundation Centre clearly marking the email ‘40th Anniversary Celebration’.

Update: In view of the numbers of members who have already indicated their interest in attending, it will not be possible to facilitate the attendance of members who have chosen another path from those loyal to Foundation Centre, Olivia's family and Cressida, her chosen successor.   (written by C. Post script: The recent amendment grew from an awareness of space limitations in the Temple given the number who have already said they want to attend. Also the vision for this event is one of celebrating the founder's gifts to us; meeting old and new 'fellows' in friendship and spiritual harmony. It is not the appropriate forum to try and tackle some of the profound disagreements that have occurred; this would require a separate more focussed specialised approach another time.  In March 2016 Huntington will be family home and the Foundation Centre open for friendship, celebration, inspiration and spiritual connection...as it is for all the regular festivals. Come back to the south-east corner of Ireland. Look down at a wooded valley. It is a veritable labyrinth of trees. Set between two rivers, watched by a mountain. . . Hidden within the trees is an ancient gray castellated Castle. From it, flies the flag of the Goddess Cybele - a castellated crown, which is Hers. This is the Castle of the Goddess!"

The singer Orpheus instituted the Athenaea in honour of Pallas Athena, Goddess of Power, Wisdom and the Arts. At this time of the Vernal Equinox of equal days and nights, when the sun leaves the sign of the tied fishes for the ram, Athenians and foreign visitors formed a joyful procession. They climbed the hill of the Acropolis and brought to the Parthenon the Peplum of Athena."
