Happy Solstice Sun in Capricorn! Olivia Robertson wrote in the book, "Sophia":
"Companions, let us contemplate the Constellation of Capricorn! Behold, it emerges from the Sea of Heaven, the primordial abyss from which all life is drawn. Within it swim Pisces Australis and Aquarius. and above flies the eagle Aquila. Beyond ascends the starry Northern Swan Cygnus, spreading wide its wings. Nearby are the twin souls, fair Vega, maiden of the Lyre, and Altair, the youth of Aquila, separated by the milky way. As is told in the Orient, the Weaver Maid and the Shepherd, may only meet once a year, over a bridge of magpies. So do our souls long for completion, the union of darkness and light, dreams and activity, the past and future, in eternal reality. . . let us contemplate the Mystery of Capricorn and Terra."

"Nuit of the Milky Way" by Olivia Robertson is now available in paperback. Olivia wrote in the introduction:
"In these rites, the Apprentices working for these final degrees I call Elaine and Aiden, the Questing Twins. Their Guide, adopting various guises, is the Shaman Time Traveller – Hermes – Merlin – Ariadne – Odin – who guides those of us who long for spiritual adventure. The Questing Twins' journey is to have a Vision Quest through the starry portals of the zodiac, inspired by the given Oracle from 'Sybil.' Within their own chosen shrine they enter trance, under the guidance of their own Priestly Alchemical Teacher. The alchemical answer brought through the Mysteries of Isis, and other transforming Goddesses, comes from the Motherhood of the Goddess."
This book may be ordered through Amazon (or any other bookstore), and public libraries as well. You may also read it in full at any time in the Online Library section of our website.
"Holy Isis, Holy Osiris;
We give you thanks
that your Love, Beauty and
are manifest with Power and Peace
throughout all spheres,
and we accept your Blessing now,
in Mind and Heart."
Blessings of the Sun in Sagittarius! Olivia wrote this about the constellation of Sagittarius in the book "Sophia":
behold the Archer, half man, half horse, whose stars were revered in Ancient
Babylon and Chaldea, when the Winter Solstice was in this sign. The Archer rises
above the Sea of Heaven, below the Tropic of Capricorn. He chases the Scorpion
with his arrow, and is followed by the Sea Goat. Above him shine the lovers of
the sky, Vega, the Weaver maid within the Lyre stars. She is separated by the
Milky Way from her lover, the Shepherd Altair, who is within the Constellation
of Aquila, the eagle. They can only meet once a year, by way of a bridge of
sparrows! Above them flies the Swan, Cygnus. The horse, Equuleus, stands beneath
Delphinus, the Dolphin. Each creature has its innate Divinity, and its
particular path of transmutation."

On the anniversary of her passing three years ago, please join us in lighting a candle for Olivia Robertson, co-founder of the Fellowship of Isis. Also, click on the link below to listen to audio of Olivia's message to the world in a past interview:
“Be happy now. Don’t worry about if you were happy yesterday, or whether
you will be happy tomorrow. . . eternity is between seconds. You find Deity, the
Goddess, the God, now. And your home becomes your sanctuary. You have a
sanctuary as your hearth – a candle, one candle, a stick of incense, wherever
you are is Heaven. That’s what my message is – yes – wherever you are, should be
"The Cauldron of Plenty is bestowed by Morrigan the Maid, called Badb the Crow. The Badb appears to heroes in all her youthful loveliness as the Washer by the Ford. And the Ford is through that river which is at the World's End in the West, for beyond it lies the realm of the Sidhe, called Tir na nOg, Land of everlasting youth. This country is invisible to mortal eye, and lies below, upon and above the mighty Western ocean that once overwhelmed Atlantis. Its bells may be heard from the deeps, and the sound of maidens singing entice sailors to cast themselves from their ships to seek lost beauty. And the purple mountains reach into the sky with rainbow shafts of light that are pathways to the stars. When in your wanderings, you may come upon the Badb by a Ford washing dust and blood from your earthly armour, know that your time has come to cross the river of death to the other realm of the Sidhe. But fear not: Her cauldron of Plenty holds the food and drink of immortality. The Divine Virgin is ever compassionate: for those in need the cauldron is never empty."
"Behold the constellation of the Scorpion, lurking between the equator and
the Tropic of Capricorn. See its claws and the fiery Antares, its Eye! Its sting
is in its tail and it emerges from the sea of heaven, in pursuit of Orion who
flees far across the sky. Hot in pursuit is Sagittarius with his bow, and above
him is Hercules, who when he was a child strangled two serpents in his cradle.
Below him is the giant Ophiuchus, holding the twisting constellation of Serpens
the snake. Ophiuchus was revered by the Greeks as representing their deified
healer Aesculapius, whose emblem was a staff entwined with a snake. Some saw
Ophiuchus as Chiron the centaur, wise in knowledge of healing herbs. Observe
that the right foot of the giant rests upon the serpent's head. That which
poisons may also cure."

"O Mother of the Gods, Ishtar, Lady of Mankind, who maketh the green herb to spring up, who created all things, who guideth the whole of Creation, a prayer will we utter in unison with those of ancient Babylon, who prayed to thee thus: O Mother Ishtar, whose side no God can approach, O exalted Lady, that which appears good to thee, do thou unto us! We pray for our Earth and all the creatures and green herbs and trees thereon."

Audio transcript: "Companions on the quest for Truth and Justice, know that in many ancient lands the constellation of Libra, when in the House of the Autumnal Equinox, was revered as portraying Justice, through the equal balancing of day and night, summer and winter. In Egypt, the Goddess Maat was depicted presiding over the weighing of the Heart on the Scales of Justice. The Heart was balanced in the Northern pan against Her Ostrich Feather of Truth, whose every frond responds to the Breath of Spirit."
"As you sit you begin to hear sound. You begin to hear the inner Harmony of the Spheres and you know that the secret name of Ra is your own secret name - your own vibration. Each person has a particular sound: that is your secret name. Some tunes can affect you - have you thought why? Certain notes . . . feel each of your psychic chakras respond to sound."
"Holy Isis, Holy Osiris; We give you thanks that your Love, Beauty and Truth are manifest with Power and Peace throughout all spheres, within all beings, and we accept your Blessing now, in Mind and Heart."

"Presiding over all, is the mighty figure, again life-sized, of the Winged Isis, black: black as space and yet with a golden cobra of healing on Her head. Her face is in the traditional - She's looking to the right and Her arms are outspread and there are mighty Wings of Isis spread for healing. And, rising from the earth is a more than life-sized golden image of the God Horus in the form of the young God-King Tutankhamun, all in gold. He is Horus-risen, emblem of how Isis brings the soul to life - knowledge of innate Divinity."
(Original painting by Olivia Robertson and Marian Marshe. Olivia later updated it to add Osiris in winged-form behind Isis. Photo copyright M. Quick.)

Updated announcement for the upcoming FOI Retreat being held in the UK on August 26-28th:
"This retreat celebrates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Fellowship of Isis in 1976. This retreat celebrates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Fellowship of Isis in 1976. As a worldwide association that honours the Goddess in all her forms, with thousands of worldwide members, FOI now comes of age. In Egyptian lore, Isis was born on the fourth intercalary day, equivalent to our 27th August, so we are offering day entry places on the Saturday, so that we may celebrate Isis Day together with our non residential members." See the link above for dates, costs and full details.
"Sphinx: Goddess Myths and Mysteries" is now available in paperback. It may be ordered online through Amazon or any other bookstore, and is also available through local libraries. You may always read it at no charge on our website as well.
This book features 8 rituals and illustrations, by Olivia Robertson. She writes in the introduction: "My aim with these Mystery Plays, related to the eight sacred planets, is to bring into harmony physical facts with inner spiritual reality. The facts are to be respected - but we need to face the elaborate dreams we have built around our material life. The sphinx has an animal body, but also the head of a human-being and spiritual wings."
"Here it is my task now, to declare the intention of this
Solstice ceremony. The intention is to blend the feminine, gentle, rays of the
Moon with the over-active, masculine energies of the Sun. So that the feminine
Sun - the warmth of the heart - be made more manifest, and the psychic powers of
men in the Moon be enhanced. So the balance of Cancer, the 6 and the 9 - Yin
and Yang - may be brought about."

"Holiest of the Holy, Great Goddess Isis, perpetual comfort of mankind, thou whose beautiful grace nourishes the whole world, whose heart turns towards all those in sorrow and tribulation, as a mother's to her children we invoke thy grace. Hallow this shrine with thy protecting wings that bringeth shade to the weary of heart, jubilation to the distressed and rest to sufferers. Bring vision and healing to those who use this shrine, thou who with thy breath bringeth the dead to life: thou friend of Thoth who art excellent in tongue, bring us thy wisdom: unveil thy Truth."

"Friends, let us wonder at the Starry Twins of Gemini, light years apart, yet together in vision. The divine forms of the Shining Twins manifest: Mawu and Li-Sa - Isis and Osiris - Lakshmi and Vishnu - Artemis and Apollo. . . receive the blessings of the Shining Twins."

"Under the watchful gaze of Persephone at the Garden Gate we filed into the Temple. . .and gathered round the Well for a reading of the Goddess Ariadne’s wise words from the Liturgy, on facing the labyrinth of the mind with courage. . ."
Click below to read the report from Minette Quick about the Beltane Festival held at the FOI Foundation Center this past weekend:
"Companions, let us contemplate the Awakening of Taurus and Isis: Gaze with me upon the glory of the black sky of winter. With the eyes of wondering childhood we see the starry cluster of the Pleiades as dancing nymphs moving across the sky. They come with the white bull, Serapis, who rises from the milky sky river, Eridanus. His baleful left eye gleams like a red torch, and within it are all lost memories. In his eye is held forever the beauty of the Goddess; and her forked cows' horns may be seen behind his. Following him strides the hawk-headed giant Sahu-Orion-Horus of the Southern sky. “And rising from the milky sea of heaven comes great Isis, and on Her brow is the full moon and in her right hand She holds Her star, Anuki, Sirius that holds the immortal twin spirits of Osiris and Herself. This is the story of eternal love and life, of the losing and the gaining of the death in the West and the rising in the East. Contemplate and wonder." (Olivia Robertson, from "Sophia")
